HISTORY IN BRIEF

How TSCF came to be

Two students were invited to Australia to take part in a student conference in 1966 organized by the Australia Fellowship of Evangelical Students (AFES). In 1967 a group was formed at University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG), and Port Moresby gradually ‘Students’ fire’ spread nationwide. Currently TSCF is involved in Students reaching Students in more than 76 institutions in Papua New Guinea (Universities, Colleges, Technical Colleges, Vocational School, National high schools and Secondary schools). In 1979, PNG movement joined the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES), which is an expanding family of National Christian Students Movement worldwide. On 03rd June, 1987 TSCF was initially registered with Investment Promotion Authority (IPA). Up until 1995, the movement was solely run by students. In 1996 the movement agreed to have two levels of leadership. The Students Executive concentrates on Campus activities: while the Board deals with policy, finance, staff and liaison. In 2008 we had a restructure in which the student and graduate component of the ministry were clearly differentiated under separate leadership namely: Student Networks (TSCF PNG) and Graduate Networks known today as PNG Christian Professional Network (PNGCPN).

Tertiary Students Christian Fellowship (TSCF) is an interdenominational student movement committed to “INVESTING IN OUR LEADERS OF TOMORROW” in Papua New Guinea. It is comprised of students from all Christian churches and are united to fellowship and serve God on campuses while studying and as graduate in the marketplace. Our mission is to build a godly generation to become a change agent in their world.
